Yesterday I was at the Breeders Cup @ Churchill Downs in Kentucky to see what it all about. I was very interested in seeing what kind of photos might come of it all. It was sooo exciting, with thousands of people milling around trying to figure out the stats on which horse to bet on next. I for the most part saw everything through a lens and had to rewatch the event on TV later to really see what was going on....haha...Oh the plight of a photographer
Perfect panning here, Tim! I think there's only one hoof on the ground there, too! I think the shutter speed worked out perfectly to enable a sharp shot of the horses with just a little motion blur of the hooves. Great action! Dave.
Hi Debarshi, I had may camera set on the sport setting and it chose to shoot @ 200/sec. @F4 .... hmmm kind of slow shutter speed but it turned out just fine. Most of my other shots from the event i was shooting @ 800-1000 /sec. which worked very well for freezing the action happening before me.
