I believe these are called moon dogs as opposed to rainbows. But whatever you call it, the effect in your photo is delightful. The perspective through the trees gives a nice scale to the shot.

Good choice of perspective. The angles add something here. Nice capture. A graduated filter might have helped you to capture deeper colors in the sky in the area of your rainbow and in the trees while calming the brightness of the moon.

What a great shot! The thumbnail does not do it justice. Do like the way the moonlight is sparkling off of the pine needles. Probably wouldn't have the same impact if you had made the moon look like the moon - and this way the pine needles really "pop" and you can even see a hint of their green color!

Wonderful image. To see the moon and rainbow together and surrounded by trees from this angle is beautiful.

I've never seen the effect of a rainbow at night - usually rainbows are seen during the day. Great to be able to actually capture this. The moom doesn't appear as a star to me as it's to big for that, but it rather looks like the sun trying to make a second appearance at night (if that makes any sense). I love the point of view you have here with the trees surrounding the moon and the rainbow.
