nicely captured with great details .... excellent result ... in excellent light .... i am still waiting to take a glimps fot this view (though i'm not very frequent in this area) ... once i got this kind of view for long 15 days during my mountaineering training at HMI, Darjeeling and base of Kabru and Rathong glaciers during 1972-73 ... but could not take picture due to appropriate good camera and lens ... aafsosh hai .. but i'm sure will grab a picture like this ..

As I already said, I had goosebumps looking at this photo (in flickr). I am amazed by the shadow details. I use the Sigma 70-300 APO, so already knew about the sharpness of it if used with a tripod. I think the cloudlet on the top adds more quality to this photo.

Thankyou Partha Da, this is a great gift , getting such appreciation from yourself. I bought the DG version of the lens ans was told by many to get the APO version which was supposed to be a better lens than the non APO version. But I think the non APO version is good enough.
My reliance Data card does not work in Guwahati and thus I will post the rest of the series once I reach Kolkata. I have 1276 phots from where I have to shortlist and compose a series.

One of the best shots of the Khangchendzonga I have seen so far.
Another point is that, so far I use to use only Nikon lense, 18-200 DC is my first non-nikon lense. After this photo I thinking to switch over to Sigma.:)

Brilliantly captured.I alwayas like the views of Mt. Khangchendzonga.Its not easy to retain the colours of the snow but you have done that wonderfully.Its really a close view and the use of tripod definately help You. You are really lucky to have such a view from Derjeeling.
