About As I was standing here watching the sunset, this little sparrow was just singing its heart out! I know it's not a nightingale, but I love this quote from Shelley:

"There the voluptuous nightingales,
Are awake through all the broad noonday.
When one with bliss or sadness fails,
And through the windless ivy-boughs,
Sick with sweet love, droops dying away
On its mate's music-panting bosom;
another from the swinging blossom,
Watching to catch the languid close
Of the last strain, then lifts on high
The wings of the weak melody,
'Till some new strain of feeling bear
The song, and all the woods are mute;
When there is heard through the dim air
The rush of wings, and rising there
Like many a lake-surrounded flute,
Sounds overflow the listener's brain
So sweet, that joy is almost pain."

Well, I could be wrong...this was a long time ago...it could also have been a matter of dept of field...if the left-hand twig were closer, so out of focus...Anyway, thanks again.:)

Hmmm... could be. I was looking at the twig that rises across the lower left corner. Doesn't look like motion, but it's hard to tell--could be. If it's also in the original then there you have it. Nonetheless, good shooting. See ya.

Thank you so very much, James! I think what you're seeing is the movement of the twigs in the breeze during the slightly long exposure.

Nice sky. A little tricky because of the low light conditions. There is some diagonal digital messiness in some of the twigs (is that from the shrinking and resizing only?). I would probably crop off that right hand (deciduous) branch and maybe a bit off the bottom too. Hope that's useful.

It sings a song to the beautiful sky. A poetical, serene image Shirley.
Cheers.

Thank you for your honest critique, dear JD! I agree about the branch...and I guess I could crop to portrait view, but I like this much of the sky showing.:)

This is nice too but in this case not crazy with compo, i'd try a portrait view more focused on the bird and I'd clone the right branch as well. Cheers my friend...jd
