Thanks for the nice note, Robbie. Yes, this image is definitely in 2 parts. That's what happens when you shoot in the shade out into the sun. Glad you like it. The TIF image looks somewhat better than this JPEG. Leaving here and going back to hot and muggy FL today. Look forward to some great shots from you when we get back. Regards. Anson

This is an image of two halves, the slow shutter speed giving the foreground a soft dreamlike appearance and a more relaxing mood than the sunny part with the lovely reflections of the trees beautifully blended into a perfect whole. Excellent composed image Anson, your trade mark 'Sepia tone' in full glory. Take care. Robbie

In reality it is a quite ordinary place, Bea, but the IR technique can transform that handily. Love your "Patches of Color" image. Stop by again. Anson

Glad you felt the mystery and the tonal range to be a feature here, Dino. Those two aspects are what I chose to strive for. Please drop by again. Anson

Thanks for the extensive set of comments, Neil, and I do really appreciate you taking the time to express your feelings. This photo was shot with part of the subject in the shade, that being the underneath part of the trees, and the water in the foreground. The water in the background was in full sun. This presents a real problem for conventional digital imaging, but surprisingly, not as much for digital IR. Yet the shadows are pushed for detail as well as the real highlights, like the bright grass on the bank above and to the left that appears to be "blown out" but in fact it is not. This type of IR loses some detail in strong highlights, but this image is far from being blown out. I like the foreground to be dark in a shot like this, so I was glad you found it OK. It could be brought out a little with PS, but I chose not to do that. Being on the verge of no detail adds a bit of mystery to it, I think. You ought to try digital IR. It is somewhat tricky to get accustomed to, but can be addictive. Please visit agin, Neil. Anson

Hello Anson,
I like the effect you have created here with the water, there is just enough light in the foreground for me although some may say its a little dark. There are also some loss of detail (blown highlights) on the bank next to the bench, i do not know if this is because of the use of infrared because i have never tried it. Overall though its a very image.

Credit lighting, a good subject and a little bit of luck, James. Your compliment is gratefully taken, especially from someone with such an outstanging and diversed portfolo as yours. I promise to go back over it and pick my favorite, but it was just too tough in one trip. Please come again, James, and you have some simply spectacular work in yours. Anson

Awesome serene photo Anson. Excellent shutter speed gives the water that wonderful cotton candy feel and the way you handled the colors is well done also. Very nice work.
