Thanks, Jon. Those were my thoughts exactly. I don't really like breaking rules (goes back to the Alfred Prufrock(sp) thing). But here, it seemed natural, and the sky did add a whispy feel to an otherwise static view. Thanks for a thoughtful critique.

Great reflections. I think placing the horizon at the mid-point of the image works well here, because of the sea and sky symmetry. I generally don't like a long, narrow crop, but I think in this case it does emphasise the scale of the piece (the boulders and the wide horizon. The larger this was reproduced the more powerful it would be.
