"WE" = my partner and I - Long & Long. We have both film and digital Nikons with many lenses. But I like the faster single focal lenses better than the zooms when it comes to low light and DOF issues. Of course under normal circumstances the zooms are expedient.

P.S. Nikon lists your camera as D2x, so if you want your picture listed in the camera data to the left "Images By Camera" you might want to change that. We are thinking of the D200 as our next camera.

I love the tones and the sharpness of the 50/1.8, my friend, with the softness in the background. It was always my choice for photographing dancers - now it works somewhat more telephoto with my Nikon D70 (closer to 80mm), so I like it a lot for this kind of portrait.
Great spontaneity and warmth. Cheers.
