Hi Marcus,
I'm sure the angle of the wings have a lot to do with the "chubbiness" of this guy :) He does look a little obese though. Too many mice in his diet, I guess.
I took some shots of bumble bees the other day. It is amazing that they can fly at all with their body to wing proportions.

Every time I see a wildlife capture or in nature especially birds ,I remember the wildlife photographers and you come high on the list. This is probably one of the toughest subjects to choose yet you get a great and successful result. A result can not be without AWARD.
look at the eyes of this beautiful Owl and you can imagine the quality shot.

Ps. I can see something on the legs, is that a control ring for research purpose? I myself, saved two young owls last year, when their mother died and took them to the zoo where now grown and in good health.
