About Many restaurants put a piece of folk art outside... this pig belongs to a really FAST fast food place. You have to eat standing up (no seats provided) and the notice says, "We may be crowded but give us your order anyway. The noodles take only 30 seconds to serve."

Ths is cute cute and would make me stop and look. However, no seats provided would stop me from going in for a meal.

Well, there you are. I try to keep a fairly fresh eye open for the oddities of life here in Japan, although I am rather used to most of them after nearly 40 years, but I must confess I hadn't even noticed those slanting eyes. I do believe you're right, though! Don't worry about comments. My own rate has dropped off with tremendous pressure of work. Feeding the family comes first...

Roger, your continuing series of curiosities (for us) from Japan are educational and entertaining. It takes time to see the nuances of a culture and you bring us these almost every time. I found it interesting that they have slanted they eyes of the pig. Do Japanese pigs actually have asian eye lids? Sorry for not commenting (or posting) more but I have been traveling on business and by the time I get home, bed seems more attractive than the computer. Cheers and thanks once again.
