About
Rain pounding down on my wife's car. I do so love thunderstorms. When I was a child, my father - a meteorologist - would drag us outside during thunderstorms, give us long metal poles and have us play a game he liked to call "Lightning Roulette". "Too damned many kids anyway," he'd tell my mother if she complained. I stopped having siblings after Vatican II. LOLOL...
Actually we'd sit under cover in the front verandah, watching the storm and whooping it up every time there was a particularly good peal of thunder, the little kids wrapped in blankets and allowed to stay up with the others to take in the event. So I suppose while this is technically a photograph of water hitting a car, it's really about my father, who is now 80.
Your writing is just as intriguing as your photography. My dad also dragged us out on to the front verandah to view the wonders of nature. Unfortunately my mother-in-law had bad memories of ball lightning destroying her classroom, so would cover all mirrors, cutlery etc if there was a hint of a storm, so my children have not carried on the thunderstorm passion handed down to me. Nice to meet another storm watcher. Cathy
