About A shot of the port . . . for the grain project. Any and all critiques are welcome as this is very new to me. The attempt is to add grain to evoke a mood. Did it succeed?

it certainly did ...looks like something that was shot using Kodak's Tri-X 400...pushed to 1600.
anyway when someone comments on one of my photos I usually check out their portfolio and comment on one or two pixs...but man yours are all really extraordinary...great works...cheers

Thank you Ray . . . the large frieght ship was actually moving (with help from a tug boat) and dwarfed the opposite shore.

This is an incredible shot Doyle and a very neat entry to this catagory of photography. There is a very distinct mood to the shot which appears to be a nightime study or at least late evening. Maybe this is an effect created by the grain. There seems to be a hive of activity around the big container ship and right accross that middle band of the composition there is a lot going on. The boats moored in the foreground seem to be more at peace. I love the converted tones and the brave originality of the piece. I am surprised to see that I am the only commentator for I think this is an excellent exploration of UF projects....Keep it up my dear friend. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray
