go for it Ian.. set the damn camera at f/16 next time you're out in full sun. If you've got a polarizing filter, slap that on, and try f/22 if you have enough sun.
it's amazing the detail that pops out! was a fun lesson for me to learn!
cheers, -Joel

Thank you very much Annemette!
I *must* get to greenland! Just flying over it, I was like a kid against the widow on a plane for the first time. Amazing from the air, and I can only imagine what it's like on the ground. Some day!
thanks for the comments!

Roby,
thank you so much!
Next time I am in Italy, I will look you up! I was just in Rome, and just about all over Italy last year. I try and get to Italy often..as it will always be the first place I go to when I have time to 'do nothing but relax'!
cheers my friend!

Thanks Paul!
...yes, the damn business trips do take the entire day... looking at all my images from the trip...they are all when i was dying o fheat, looking for a pub, or 1/2 buzzed on lager, walking around with my camera. ...translates to... hardly any good shots. ...and all the images that I keep going to, are the ones from the plane window!
...i could watch the clouds go by all day... i'll try and get some images up from greenland... those are insane. I gotta go there someday.
cheers, and thanks again!

Thank you Phil!
London was a blur! ...whats funny is, looking at all of my images, you can tell that my mind was on work, and I was not relaxed when shooting. It may take a few weeks before I find art in the images I captured.. I wish I had more time there! clearly I was relaxed on the plane after a few glasses of wine....cause most of my images are from the plane window on the way home ;)
cheers! -joel

As a weather buff and geography nut, this is one of the things I LOVE about flying: putting things in a different scale for me. Beaches become...coastlines, and cold fronts become tangible walls of white out the window.
I know how business trips can occupy your entire day, but it can make those few stolen moments even sweeter when you DO nail a shot in between, eh?
Welcome home, Joel. Travel is nice, but there's no bed like the one at home. ;)

A great image, Joel! You've seen quite a bit of this kind of scenery, lately!
I remember, well, our flight from London to NYC. We flew south of Greenland, however, we could see it in the distance. We also had a great view of the icebergs in the North Atlantic. I'll never forget it!
I look forward to seeing your photos! Don't keep us waiting too long!
Cheers
Phil

An amazing image with the sculptural cloud rising from the others, so massive and yet so thin if falling through it.;-) Greenland is a fantastic place to visit, not only from the air. Anyway, it is so incredible how the icecore and the clouds seem to blend in when flying over Greenland - what is what? Then navigationequipment comes in handy:-)) Best wishes, Annemette
