I like it too! I love the B&W conversion and the traditional 'Americana' feel to this image. Just wonderful and it takes me back to my youth in the midwest. You nailed this shot and it's absolutely wonderful. I came to take a peek at your PF after seeing you on the front page for the featured critique (Congrats, by the way) which was spot-on! The shot made ME nervous too and thank goodness for the response. Great experience to view these images (yours and hers) and a real advantage of the FC!

Could you tell me how to do a vignette on my photo. I really like how you did it on your editor's choice award. I haven't been able to figure it out on my own yet.

Hi Sheila,
I used the EZAction Goldenrod. I always like to mess around with the opacity on the layers on the actions. I think I bumped this one down to about 50% all 3 action layers.

Very nice conversion Susie! The tones are beautiful here. Did you convert this using an action? If so, which one? I love it!
I like the composition too. The tight crop, great focus on her eyes and the her day dreamer look all work great together. Well done!

head !! The lighting is perfect! the shadows make the demintions! Not to mention that her face is feeling up a good portion of the frame which Gives your eyes lots to work with ....

The smoothness of her skin is what i find appealing...almost a rubber doll texture...like that you captured her lost in thought enjoying some watermelon....i crave it at this time of year and about to go find some!

Great portrait Susie - the sharpness of the eyes is the best part of this capture - draws you into the photo. Good low-key tones with the conversion - wonder how it would look in color though, specifically the melon; maybe a bit busy considering the background (looks a bit busy)? Either way, very well captured.
