Thanks, Dave. There's no need to worry. I've just had another closer look at the original and I think the 'hook' is actually water, as he was just opening his beak as I took the pic. Cheers, Ann.

Excellent capture with great lighting. I only wish he didn't have the hook stuck in his bill. (saying that because I feel sorry for him, not that it takes away from the photo).
