This is a multi exposure (8) using a handheld technique bouncing the camera vertically. My intent was to paint the frame and create something that looked more like a painting or charcoal sketch than a photograph. It is three trees and fall foliage.
Great shot John! This reminds me of my picture http://www.usefilm.com/showphoto.php?id=100207 which I have now had blown up poster size.
I could be wrong, but it looks like the colour balance is a little on the warm side. Attached, I've attempted to cool it down to get the birch trees closer to white. Is that a natural characteristic of Velvia, to be a bit warm?
Thanks Bobbie glad you like it! I'm a big fan of Freeman Patterson. Do go out and try some more they are very fun! Don't be afraid to try different things too.
I love this. Did you read "Photo Impressionism and the Subjective Image" by Freeman Patterson/Andre Gallant? If not, you should, it's full of these kinds of techniques. I've tried this, but not with results like this one. Now I'm inspired to try it again!
