Hi Ben, In shots I took moments before this, the light was brighter and I had more burnout in the sky. This is Santa Monica Pier which compared to Navy Pier is a little old and dingy but an important landmark and tourist attraction. Thank you for the kind comment.

Your capture of the light in this image is what really drew me to it. I have found it really difficult to accurately photogrpah the 'fingers of god' that happen when there are breaks in the clouds. I really envy this shot.

This vaguely looks like Navy Pier in Chicago.
