About Also taken at Sandbanks.

I must admit, I was stalking this seagull. haha But seriously... the best time of day to photograph beaches (unless you're aiming to show how busy they can be) is at night, after everyone has gone home. I wandered around and saw all these sandcastles and pictures people had made. It's quite relaxing.

Do you think it would look better mirrored? I did that in ps but I can't decide whether it looks weird with the rake pointing in the opposite direction.

The seagull is a little out of focus (I hadn't noticed before), I think it's because he was literally running away from me. haha

I found a few more pictures and decided to have a little fun.

Nacho's right about the tones and the conveyance of the water surface is spot-on! Colors are realistic too. The focus is a tad soft on the gull . . . (a minor point) and (in my opinion), the composition is always better if you crop it so that the bird (or person - subject) is going INTO or looking INTO the picture - not out of it. This does not mean looking at the camera . . . but to add more impact . . . the beach should be displayed more in front of and less behind the gull. That's my opinion regarding composition.
