So, the next day, I took the advise of Yamil and rented a 300mm also got 1.4X TC. I went back to Coyote Hills. Walked around and finally saw the same bird again. Same as the previous day, he was still playful. First time to use a prime telephoto and it is a bit difficult to compose unlike a zoom. But this lens is fast. Anyway, the hawk did not attempt to dive, but he did hang around for awhile. I was hoping he would extend his claws, at the end was glad he did not.
Hi Chris! Thanks for your comments. I'm thinking if I should let go of my 80-400mm, the wife won't like having two 300mm focal lengths duplicated :-) But the prime lens sure is fast and it guarrantees tack sharp images. Unfortunately Nikon doesn't have as much lens as Canon (400mm F4 would be nice).
Excellent details Jinggoy. I like the way the birds mouth is open and the angle of his body. Nicely captured.... looks like you might have to invest in one of these lens :) Chris
Nice photo, great composition, clear, good job, I have thumbed through your portfolio and you have some great shots, I will be watching you. Regards, Kenny
