Hi Andre!
This is exactly what I meant, saying that "I try (and try and try...)" - bracketing. But this one was the "best" of the series, for my eyes at least. Despite the results, I think that there are situations, like this here, with great luminosity differences, that are really good to deal with, since those difficulties might at the end be the reasons for new thoughts hoe to solve such problems (with film or digitally).
Which means, I keep on trying ;-)

Hi Nick, One thing that you can try on images like this is to "bracket" the exposure. By this I mean get the exposure reading on the leaves and set the camera for the optimum. Then take a couple of shots on either side of the optimum exposure. In this case, if you got rid of the glare on the leaves, you might have ended up with a much darker background. That might have been the lesser of the two evils. That is one of the great things about digital imaging. It doesn't cost a thing to experiment with the settings on the camera. Then you can manipulate the image further in a software program afterwards. Andre

Thank you Andre for the detailed and nice comment. I feel that it is a "big deal", since I still can get that "washout" from such photos - so what can be the solutiopn to thios problem, my friend? Perhaps a shorter exposition time? I really don't knoe, but I try (and try and try).
Cheers,
Nick

Nice feel to this one Nick. The colour combinations and textures go very well together for a pleasing image. Just the slightest bit of "washout" in the light green leaves near the top, caused by the sun's reflection. Not a big deal. Too bad about Roger Federer yesterday :( Andre
