And, as promised, the blue photo filter verison. - not much difference, I think.
John, what do you think? hope you don't mind fiddling with your image...
Cheers,

Hi James,
It depends on the format you shoot in. The easiest is to tweak the WB when importing the raw file.
If it's shot as JPEG, I'd say there are two options. Either by tweaking the hue saturation (probably decreasing the saturation of the yellow and perhaps the red levels a bit, compensating it with their brightness to maintain the overall tonal range.
Or, you could apply a subtle photo filter (cooling filter 82) - I use CS2, not sure if that's also available in other versions.
If shot with a film camera, you can compensate the excessive tungsten tones and other monochromatic lightsourses by using a blue filter on the lens.
I think the bottom line is a subjective thing, it's a matter of taste. Looking at this photo for the first time since I've left my comment, I'm less convinced it's necessary.
I've attached the image using the first (hue-saturation) method, the Photo filter version will be attached to my next reply...:)
Cheers,
Hugo

hugo, how do you reduce the colour temperature and what effect would that have on this photo?

John, you certainly had a good night and my choice between this composition and "Florence", is this one. It has that Ed Hopper feel to it, which i love.

Hi John, excellent shot, especially the panoramic version is top notch, superb details and very well exposed. Good composition too.
I realise it's a rather overcast day (at least I think so), but reducing the colour temperature to something cooler would IMO recreate the cold night feel of the photo a bit stronger. A minor detail, which is probably more an artistic freedom than a realistic capture of the scene - don't know if that's within your limits of accepted manipulation...
Cheers,
Hugo
