About I have this strange attachment to my photos. NO!... it is NOT a monetary attachment… it is more personal, a weird personal thingy. MUCH to the chagrin of the Lovely MM, money has not been the driving force behind my non-advancement in the world. I have a few people on my private email list and when I send them a photo I usually do not post that photo anywhere else. And I often go beyond that… if I send a private photo I often delete that photo from my computer (I do save the original on CD or DVD) and that photo seldom sees the light of day again. I have shared it and given it to another… free of charge. There have been a few times when I thought maybe the image should be shared with others and I actually ask permission from the people who I sent the pic to. Over the years I have become less possessive (unless I see one of my pics posted wiffout me permission…. That is a different story) and loosened my grip on my babies. Still, I find it hard to share a photo with a single individual and then post it to others who I did not intend to see the image in the first place… but I am getting better. I once said that I often keep the best photos to myself. That is mostly correct. Sometimes I sent the best photos to people on my email list. Either way, no one else in the world would ever see those photos. I post this one because a friend asked me to share it with you. I gave it freely… but I guess it might just be one of those I should share with more than one person…

PL…. I tip a beer to you for telling me to do so….

You were right…..

Congrats, Jim. I love the juxtaposed life/death thing. Your blue ribbon should compliment the purple flowers once they're framed, man.

Good job!

Entered this in the Bureau County Fair yesterday. In the category: Florals. More than one. All, every other entry was a full-faced floral shot... Took home the blue ribbon, I did.

Glad you posted this one, Jim.
I really like the contrast of fresh new life against the decay in the background. As can be the case in everday life, a lens or our perceptions can defocus the ugly, only to notice the beautiful.

Thanks.
