thanks very much for your indepth critique. And yeh I did consider cropping the pole on the left but somehow I perfered it there, but I can see what you are saying. I think I had cropped, uncropped recropped etc... looked at it too long and ended up leaving it! And I did enhance the blue hues too, only very slightly as it was quite a great light already,
Hi Melanie, a good shot, but I would definitely get rid of the cut off pole on the left, as it's rather distracting. I think such a photo woul lend itself beautifully for a vertical panorama.
I like the feel about this image with the misty, damp atmosphere, and I think the cut off poles (and their cut off reflections) work surprisingly well. normaly, I always feel that divides an image too much, but I don't think that's bothering me here... Apart from the pole on the left, you could also concidering reducing the blue hues a bit, the mist looks a bit too blue, but then again, i wasn't there, so I can't really judge that.
