About 3rd time in SF and finally got to Alamo Park to take this famous shot for myself. (I was a big 'full house' fan growing up. just a shame those twins grew up, lol :)

Hi Peta,

well, sorry for being so unspecific. I mean the leaves =) Especially the flying ones.

Colors, angels, composition, details, awesome DOF, wonderful study in contrasts between the houses of yesterday, highrises of today, and who knows what tomorrow will bring out of the distant mountain in the background. Great perspective, and the overcast day really does make those "Painted Ladies" stand out beautifully! Jan

As you noticed Lisa, the clarity from this lens is just awesome. You cant go wrong with any of the L series.

I've lived in California all my life and have never been to San Francisco.

I thought of "Full House" when I saw this image in the thumbnails immediately. I was a fan too.

The detail is very sharp and clear and the colors are fantastic.

I see you have the 24-70 and am thinking of getting it or the 24-105. Any recommendations based on your use of this lens?

Lisa

Thanks Tim, I wasnt expecting many to look at this one as its not much as a thumbnail hey. Glad you did. You cant be a good photographer if you cant really 'see' details - so good on you :)

At first I did not find this photo all that fun or interesting, although I kept looking and I became sort of interested in the little differences among the houses besides paint color, It really is a interesting compoostion, and fun to stare, imagine who lives there, who drives that Lexus. Cool shot. -Tim

Peta,

I Like this shot a lot. The seperation between the FG and the BG is awesome. I Love the details in the row houses. IMO, I think the inclusion of the tree branch add splendidly to your DOF.
The sweeping angle of the hill and the angles of the cars parked on the hill, give the viewer a fantastic sence of steepness( if thats a word)
Well done, I am glad that you had a great time while you were here.
Best Regards

Sam Graziano III

Hi Peta, Yep, cool shot. Never knew (or better, never gave it a second thought) the full house house was actually a real building, and not just some stage set. Cool! I made the connection before reading your about.

Good composition, too, including the hill as well as the more corporate parts of the SF skyline in the background. It creates a good man made contrast.

Cheers,

hugo
