Yes Joggie, that does make sense. I was pretty sure that this was a full frame or almost full frame shot.

Every once in a while someone will post a macro shot that is in fact a 100% view of an image, as opposed to being a full frame shot.

Given the extreme magnification here, it really is in incredible photo, esp. knowing that it wasnt taken from a 100% view of an image.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for commenting Magnus. For most of my latest macros, especially those real close, I use the Panagor macro converter (2.75X) and the ring flash. For the waterdrops I use the built in flash. The combination gives me a maximum reproduction ratio of about 3.8:1. Regards.

Thanks for the comment Chris - The original was shot in the upright format. I rotated it about 5 degrees and then cropped it to about 90% of the original width to create the diagonal from lower left to upper right corners anf the square format. Hope it make sense.

Really amazing macro.

Is this the full frame photo, or is it blown up from the digital file to be maxamium size on screen?

Given the detail I would say it is not a 100% view, but the full frame shot.

Cheers,
Chris

Very impressive macro indeed. I have the same lens and was wondering....did you use any kind of additional equipment to get this close ?

regards

Magnus

Well, here we are starting to get into the microscopic! Details and quality hold remarkably well in this crop. The highlights from the reflective surfaces become more prominent and noticeable - the only drawback.
