What a fascinating image! It reminds me of my mother, who loved cactuses. They are hard to raise in England (not exactly cactus country--too much rain) but she loved them and tended them and they thrived! I don't think she ever had one this big or beautiful, though... I think this should have had an award in the "Patterns in Nature" project.

This almost reminds me of green coral except for the spikes. I love all the folds in this cactus, make for a bustling feel. Beautiful lighting and saturated coloring.
