Thanks for the insightful comment, Joggie. The lighting is mixed because I used fill from the on camera flash. I also held back on the sharpening a bit as I did not like the increase in local contrast. This may account for your perception of slight softness. Otherwise, I don't see it - or, my eyes are older!
