About
Another pic from the thermal valley Orakei Korako- "Hidden Valley" situated between Taupo and Rotorua. This area is called the Artists Palette, formed by hydrothermal eruptions between 8,000 and 14,000 BC, remains one of the most dangerous and unpredictable areas on the resort. The thickness of the silica in some places is as little as 20mm! Marked by over 120 crystal clear blue pools, such natural beauty aptly named The Artist's Palette! TV/320 AV/7.1 ISO@100
Hi Hugo, thanks so much for your detailed comment.. Its music to my ears as i do take awhile to compose these landscape shots to portray details, hopefully a balanced abstract, rather than a standard classic shot! I do hope the usefilmers are not tired of these landscapes!... I know i never do! p Regards, Tabitha
There are so many fascinating patterns emerging from this wonderfully toned composition Tabitha. The textures and details are superb and I love those traces of steam rising from the ground. Well seen and taken, all the very best to you...Ray
Hi Tabitha, Love those geothermical colours, hues and textures. Fascinating photo. Countering my usual doubts about including those shrubs in the foreground, I think they create a very strong addition in this photo, as they're not only countered by the vegetation in the background, but also create a feeling for the dimensions of those pools. Very good photo. I like the fact that you omitted the horizon from view, that takes the photo out of the "ordinary" landscape category, and allows the viewer to focus on the intricate colours and patterns.
