Thanks Davide this spider's bite is worse than his bark . . . but . . . then again, he doesn't bark and has never bitten anything larger than a bug! (So Far)! :)

Now Shirley . . . they don't want US on THEM either! LoL! My lil granddaughter Cydney let me put Plato on her head for a UF 'above your head' project photo. (http://www.usefilm.com/image/1085583.html) Now . . . if SHE was willing . . . hehehehee.....then surely YOU'D have no problem! ;)

Beautifully done, Doyle! I'm not fond of spiders, either, but have to admit I find some of the furry jumping spiders kinda cute...just don't want any of them ON me!:)

Thanks for the comment Thilo . . . but he looks much scarier than he really is. Kinda' like a dog's bark is worse than his bite although, admittedly, I prefer not to be bitten by this one!

I'm not a hundred % sold on the frame, but this is a 'big league' macro! Phenomenal color DOF and focus. Sal

Just beautiful- I have always liked tarantulas, but we seldom see them here in the wild anymore. I miss them! Never saw one this beautifully marked, though. Your pet?

Pat: Good shot you referred to . . . albeit a much smaller spider. I'd - suprisingly - be more worried about the spider you showed biting me than this big boy. Regards - Doyle I

Robert: The ones usually in Death Valley are the cinnamon tarantulas. They are very hairy, can be handled relatively safely by hand, and look scary. They don't often have the bright colors which do not help them in the desert. I appreciate your feedback.

I saw one at Death Valley a couple of years ago that was crawling across the road I like to have take a picture of but in was on a hill and curve and no safe place to pull off. This is a nice one. Like the dof and image.
