Not easy to take...!
Strong light on the right and ...no light on the left.... and the subject in the middle.
The title of this image could be "dilemma" :)
Anyway at the end you found the correct exposure.
What I would suggest (my personal opinion) is to cut more the right and top side of the image or the left side.
What I like in this image is the wall on the left, the man and the lamp.

Probably you would save all them but if the subject is the man you need to do a choice (I repaeat... my personal opinion)the lamp or the wall?
