......Terry, this (imao) is a very powerful and well executed black and white photograph, I love the title and the story that it creates, the lines of direction, the lights and the shadows, above all, the simplicity, little digital information for maximum effect, well done. cheers, david.

Hugo,
Thank you for your critique.
I see what you are saying about the crowding in the upper left of the image. There is some tension.
When I print this I'll revise the composition.
Be well, Terry Taylor

Hi Terry, the first thing that crossed my mind is the archetypal Japanese style of this photo. It seems you can tell the various styles apart; the German "more is less" approach, the Japanese stylishness, the Eastern European gloomy atmosphere, and so on. The subtlety of this photo (making it "Japanese stylish") shows in the curved wall, the slightly alternating stools, (and their design) as well as the subtlety in the seemingly distorted perspective and Point of view. That really rocks in this image. Sober, clean and stylish. Very well captured and prevented.
The only thing I have my doubts about is the composition, I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's a certain unbalance in it. I think it's the lighter area (reflection of the TL tubes overhead?) that is just a bit too much. Composing it a bit more concise on the lower and right side would on one hand place the stools more in the center (not a preferred option, as far as I'm concerned) but could give the photo just that little additional tick it needs.
Cheers,
Hugo

Takes a moment for the striking abstraction to reveal itself as an ordinary subject matter. There is beauty everywhere, and your photograph reveals it to us.
