One of my oldest and best friends. He got me involved with photography some 30 years ago. He has since put the camera down and now he involves himself too much with lifes everyday stresses to "remember" to enjoy the journey. I am trying to get him back to where he left off.
Hi Ron, Welcome back from your trip. We did the same one 1n 2000, on our way to the Bar-Mitvah of the son of another one of Rachel's innumerable cousin's sons in New York. There are two "unfortunately's" here. One was that I had a video camera & up to this days have found no way of posting single frames from it. The name of our ship was the "Century" belonging to the "Celebrity" cruises. I hope you did take photos & look forward to seeing them. The other is that UF has stopped putting e mail addrdesses & deletes comments containing them. Otherwise, I would have sent you stories Rachel wrote about her youth on Mauritius. The stories were written in Hebrew, but I translated 7 of them, 2-3 pages each. They were collected in a book called "Sweet lemons", published by our National Museum & Institute for the Study of the Holocaust to be studied at our schools. Some of them are sad, others funny. As to "Eilat", I honestly don't remember how I did it. The way I usually treat such a photo is by trial & error, chosing one function or filter after another until I reach a result that pleases my eye. I'm glad I made you smile & thank you for your comments. Best regards, Rafi
