yeap, nice objects, very nice, it's difficult to believe these are just ice!!! I could say that is crystalic objects, nice composition and good view against the black background my friend.
the middle top is the most unique and interesting for me...

Hi Larry, thanks for the comment! I just filled in the background with the "fill" tool, and then cloned in some areas that didn't fill in completely. Hope this helps!

Hi Fred, thanks for the comment! Yes, I think they probably were. By the time I got to them, they looked more like stylized figures instead of the very crisp, sharp images usually associated with ice sculpture.

Hi Dave,
Were any of these Inuit carvings? They are very reminiscent of the soapstone carvings that are so famous world wide.
A few years ago we had an exhibition of Lord Of The Rings ice sculptures in Nathen Phillips Square (out side of Toronto City Hall)

Hi Eb, thanks for the comment! Some of them were shot against a fairly dark background, but to make them all the same I removed the backgrounds and filled it with black. They are in front of the hotel entrance so there were varying backgrounds of buildings etc across the street behind them.

These are great, Dave! The transmitted light is so beautiful. Were you able to photograph them against black or was it necessary to select them and paste against the backdrop?
