Now this is great wedding photography - behind the scenes, personal, and lovely DOF and lighting.

Thanks Gina, the couple loved this so much the coloured version became a 11x14 to be framed for their wall.

Great work Jakes. I like the composition and ligth. On the post work though, I think the idea was great, but for my, who loves to take PS and create stuff in my pics, I find distracting the blur effect on the lamp. Fact is that your mind accepts that the background and from side of the shot can be blurred, lens can do that, but the lamp is at the same view line as the subjects, so it should not be blurred.
Any way, I do like this shot's overall result.
Thanks for your comments.

I usually don't care for wedding work, but this is very nice. Good leading lines, composition and limited DOF (unless it was just blurred out in PS afterward).
Cheers, Chris

Beautiful shot!
The one thing that caught my eye was that it looks processed. It appears that you have a matte to force a tighter DoF. That matte is a little too perfect. A good trick for that would be to subtract some of the hotter areas from your matte (very softly to break up the edge more). Then the falloff will have a more natural look. I would also back down on the softness of the light above the couple, or just pull thru some of the un-softened image back into the light. Your crop is very good. Keeping the light in is perfect! If you left it out, you would not have that 'stolen moment'.
A very beautiful capture, and works SO well in B/W! Well done!
cheers, -Joel

And I thought it was the bride and the best man having a stolen moment. I've obviously been watching too many T.V. soaps. Seriously, a great shot. Very much like an old fashioned Hollywood movie. Good details and DOF. I like it. Cheers, Ann.

Great moment to capture. I very much like the B&W look, but the transition between focus and blurred areas is rather abrupt especially on the wall. There is a way to apply blur like this via applying the lens blur filter in PS and t selecting the alpha channel with an applied gradien to it. You can get some really impressive DOF twists. This might be something to explore and experiment with.
