About
What appears like ice is actually salt, combined natural elements shapes the landscape in the valley. Taken just after sunrise near the lowest point in the western hemisphere @ 282 Feet (86 Meters) below sea level. Clouds cast shadows across the Panamint range in the distance.
Hi Roland, Classic scene, with the fungi like threads of the salt over the mud structures. When I saw this vista for the first time, I thought the blue was way too fierce, but having witnessed the sunset at the golf course, I know how genuine those colours are. Amazing! I like the diagonal placement of the division line between salt and mud, well composed image. Also , you had more luck than we did, as there seems to be a bit of clouds (better: the shadow over the mountains suggesting some clouds) which spices up the sunset beautifully. Great place, and a very good shot.
hi, interesting subject matter, nice textures and i like the minimal natural palette...good proportions with the composing and i like the cloud shadow......a pleasure to view,Roland regards, gayle
