Thanks Phil, was just one of those memorable moments that I was very glad to have my camera on hand.
As for my latest photo, well, being a photographer is all about taking risks, isn't it?
Cheers mate.

Oh yes I see it now. Nature has it's harsh side too doesn't it but it appears the bird seems to be a pretty good one eyed pilot. Perhaps it's his lack of depth perception which inadvertantly had him land on the kayak. A very rare and great moment indeed well captured.
Cheers - Ann :)

Thanks Ann. Not sure if it was old or simply ill/wounded. We were happy to have seen it sitting on the riverbank, but completely awestruck when it jumped up onto the kayak. Have attached a crop from another shot that shows the eye problem in question.

WOW what a great and rare moment captured here. IS it an old bird resting to have landed so close to you? I can't see a problem with his eye apart from one being a slightly different colour but my eyes aren't that keen either. I'm glad he was OK to fly though. Thanks for sharing that. A super candid shot.
Cheers - Ann :)
