OK so now we begin a series of images which return to the core theme of recovery from the devastation of the 2003 bushfires. This next series were shot along the Alpine Way from Thredbo to Olsen's Lookout and Geehi Dam, it crosses Leatherbarrel Creek which drains Lake Cootapatamba and there is a brief sidetrack along the beautiful stream.. but that on the way back, it also crosses the Swampy Plains River just near the site of the old Geehi (Snowy Mtns Authority Camp and airstrip. This route affords a view of the main range from the west which is the way that Strezlecki climbed it, when he climbed Australia’s highest mountain, Mt Kosciuszko. It is more impressive to view from this side... take a load off and enjoy the ride…
