Hi Kathy, I love the choice of tones for this one. The detail is very nice. It's the details like that little window frame / over-grown door down in the bottom right of the barn that make all the difference. That little over-grown door would have made another great image all on it's own! The roof detail looks beautiful and the barnboard looks great too! Andre

Kathy,
believe me or not I would do the same, I love rural architecture and I think it's equaly charming then many great landmarks of the world. All those were designed and built by simple people but with a sense of beauty that does not fall into any architecture great canons maybe regional style only. Simple for convenience and beautiful to charm.
Great picture indeed, I like it's getting embraced by nature as likely it's abandoned for some time already. I like the details of the picture highlighted and equalized by monochrome touch - so now there is no distinction between man made barn and the nature. The equal state of existance.
Good job the Barn Lady.
Cheers, n.j

Nice shot, Kathy. The barren tee trunks are most evident in the monotone shot.

A wonderful old barn. I love old buildings and this one has character. Tones, light and contrast are good. I like the way you framed the barn with the trees.

Quite like the darker tones in this one Kathy. The scene here can take on several moods, depending on your mental state at the time that is :)) You could see old world charm, or, amityville horror! I love it and it's going in my favs right now...

Fantastic textures Kathy, it looks like a tapestry! I love old barns (well, we all do!) but I also love how the sepia you used gives the picture an old vintage look. I love the tones, they are extremely well balanced, not too dark and not too light, the perfect exposure, and that dark window for an accent. Well, I think I'd get in trouble if I were like Ann, I already got escorted off of a property for - guess what? taking a picture of a barn! Superb clarity and composition, I love it! Ina

People will start calling you the Barn Lady soon Kathy and you do them so well. :)
You always find the best composition making each image look like a painting. I love the tones inthis one. Gives it a nice old world atmosphere and an intriguing air of mystery. I know I'd get myself into trouble just trying to look into that black window. I'd probably hurt myself tryng to see inside only to find out that door was unlocked the whole time. (hehe) A lovely image Kathy.
Cheers - Ann :)
