Yes I understand that some falls do continue to a stream pr cascade rather than land in a pool so I see why you shot this as you did now. Thanks for the explanation. All falls are very different and even the same falls captured by different photographers can appear very different too. That's why I enjoy them so very much. They're so alive and a real challenge. Keep shooting and enjoy.
Cheers - Ann :)

Ann, I thought about your injunction about including top and bottom pools at the time I photographed the falls. Unfortunately, there was no definitive bottom pool as such because the water courses down a steep ravine hidden by dense growth. I was able to shoot the upper section of the falls by moving back to higher ground. There was no effective shot to be had nearer the base. I am sure there will be more picturesque opportunities in the future.

Good positioning of the falls Eb. I would have liked to have seen the pool at the bottom as you have already shown the top. I have found with waterfalls that if the top is in the image my eyes look for the pool at the bottom. Just a personal preference. The quick fix for the blow out worked a treat. Nice image.
Cheers - Ann :)

Thanks Joggie - I thought the blown highlight was bad too. It would have taken considerable under-exposure to bring it into detail. I did a quick fix in PS. I don't know why I did not think of it before your reminder. Thanks! Eb

Lovely composition and great tones of green and textures. Pity about the small blown-out area at the top of the waterfall. Otherwise excellent. Kind regards Joggie
