About
When someone X dies, in Greece, we do the funeral of him/her (next day) and after one month we do the memorial service. After the memorial service, at the grave or the church, every visitor is treated to the "last meal"* "with" the X-person...This is called "kO-li-va" or "spe-r-nA" in Greek..It is made of boiled wheat, roast sesame (grated), pomegranate, parsley, caster sugar, raisin, currant, roasted nuts and almonds...etc. It is delicious...exactly because it's the last meal... *A small bread made of aniseed, is also given with "koliva".
