thanks a lot Ann, the details and feather look are made of many little piece of silk. If you take a look at http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1021934 (this is chinese lantern 24), you can have an idea how big it is by looking in the background.

oh yes there certainly are beautiful details shown here Jacques. The colours are very vivid in this one and as usual you have great control over the lighting. I wonder how they get such fine texture in these lanterns. This one really looks feathery particularly around the neck area. Such details. This looks like a big one. I would have liked to have seen this show in person but very happy that you can bring us all these beautiful images of the exhibition.
