Thank you Ray for the advise you have given me. I'll try using the settings you gave me. I only have had my macro two months ago and still am having a lot of trouble with it yet. Never learned much about macros in photo class, too specialized I guess. Any advise is highly regarded as a valuable gift. Thank you soooooo.... much. Kelly Kelly

Wonderful idea Kelly and well taken. We have two pussycats which makes me PAWS for thought; I have never thought of doing this as a shot. The trouble with good macro lenses is that they are uncompromising with dof if we are forced to use a wide aperture. Having said that I think your shot is wonderful with bags of detail. I shall have a go at this as little Poppy has bright pink pads and if you go again try to shoot at f11 to gain dof, or close down the lens as much as you can. Very best wishes my sweet, 'see' you soon.Ray

Wow, a really cool shot, Kelly! A great idea, and well executed. It's always hard to get these fuzzy objects in complete focus...they're just, well, fuzzy! Very good detail, though, and great tones. Dave.

Oh how wonderful Kelly! I'm so happy to see you on the Front Page, Congratulations! This is a great shot! I don't know why it is so difficult, but I believe you and Susie. It's really neat! Such a soft looking paw and such a deadly weapon, LOL :) Best regards, Ina

Did you really call your cat Smeagle? I might have to rethink my alibi. ;)
I just went through your portfolio Kelly and I can't believe you haven't won any awards(not that they'll pay the bills - I wish)....unless I missed something. Think I'll picket!! :)
Cheers - Ann :)

Your such a good UF pal. My cat and I both thank you for your generousity of the cover up. "Meow" 'Smeagle' saying thank you. I think he prefers to stay here and lie enstead of going there in the cold weather. Kelly

That sounds EXACTLY like my experience. I shot and shot...thinking, how hard can this be? Well, until ya try it...I'm thinking of giving it a go again too. If I come up with something I'll post it. I'll look forward to seeing your experimenting too! We have the same camera, so if you ever come across any cool tips, please let me know. ) Susie

Your absolutly correct on the focus. And this is much harder than one would suspect. I got tired of this shot after 30 pics, and this was the best. I still have so much to learn. Thank you for your comment. I'm going to do this projuct again. Kelly

Cute Kelly! I shot some like this of my mom's cat and I know that they aren't as easy as it would seem. You got some nice detail in even the little hairs around the edges of the paw. Sweet shot. I think I would like it a little better if the focus was dead center on the paw though...just a thought. Susie

Awww cute shot. So how come you're taking his prints? Was he at the scene of some crime? Whatever he did wrong I'll testify that he was with me at the time. He didn't do it I tell you. He's innocent. :) I love it! :)
Congrats again on your day of fame. :)
Cheers - Ann :)
