We call this 'little one' a cross spider, have a guess why.... yep, because of the cross on it's back...
And about it being venomous: nehhhh we don't have any of that here in The Netherlands... I guess that's your Oz-background 'shining' through... ;-D!!!

Eeewwww....that looks quite nasty indeed. The spider I mean. Not your photo of it. :) The photo is great. Razor sharp with a great background to compliment it. Did you identify whether it was a venomous spider? A good shot.

Brilliant photo. The detail in the spider is superb, and the dof spot on. The colour in the background adds just the right amount of contrast and interest.
