Anthony -- Nicely balanced composition. I like the toning. It adds to the peaceful, almost melancholy mood. The gentleman in the mid-foreground walking into the center of the image is key to the composition, in my opinion. He is engaging the subject, the large open square. Well done. Keep shooting.

hey Rafi...thanks so much for stopping by my page. and yes we have met...i have commented on some of your previous shot and i think you have on mine as well...i do remember you. as far as my photos go..there are several places in nyc that are very beautiful and serene and are lovely for solitude..you wouldnt think that when you hear the name nyc..but after being a native here, you kinda get to know the good and bad spots :) this particular park, for your knowledge is called washington square park. very beautiful park in nyc..your welcome for the comments and its good to have another friend on usefilm. I don't know for sure, but your bio sounded familiar & made me believe we've already met on these pages, Mr. M. Be that as it may, I'm impressed by your bio, which, despite the difference in age, seems to fit my own views about photography & by the quality of your photos, including this one, showing a view of NYC I was not aware existed, so peaceful and wide-spaced.

Beautiful mood, Anthony, it reminds me of some impressionist paintings of Paris in winter. Great feeling of solitude, despite of all the people walking in all directions frozen in time! thank you laura...im glad you liked it.i did a lot of coloring with photo shop. this was a black and white shot...il try this shot without the garbage can and see how it works..thanks for the suggestion laura!

Hi Anythony,
I really like this shot. I'm not sure if you used a sepia mode on your camera, or if you used PS, but I like the effects.
Would you consider cropping out the trash can, which would eliminate some of the empty foreground?
