I do like Gary's view of 'expressionless expressions', a wonderful term that sits well here JD. I love the dramatic mono tones and the lighting is superb. I love too the catchlights in the eyes and the silky look to the material. Shirley has picked out a 'ladder' in the background and I can make out feint markings but the way my screen is calibrated this is no problem to my view of an excellent child portrait. I do wonder what goes on in the mind of anyone that manages to present a totally emotion free expression. Well done to you JD. Best wishes......Ray

Foto digna de estudio en la que supongo que tuviste que improvisar la luz y todo, me encanta la textura que tiene y la ligera luz de la esquina que ilumina lo suficiente al personaje, cuando nos pones la de Mexico?

A simply stunning portrait JD,the light is magical. Textures and detail are excellent, I feel like I could touch the satin of her dress.
The best thing of all though is the look you captured...it's like looking right into her soul !

Excellent portrait because of the lighting... even the main light part looks like cames from the window that is at the back of the kid, the face looks very well and has enough lighting like... a soft white element that pro photographers use to reflect a natural light strait to the faces... amazing job on that.

This is very good, I've always liked expressionless expressions. Tonal range is very good too. You seem to put people at their ease readily, even when they're from other cultures, it's a gift I wish I had.
