About Looking at that old piece of a tree I had to think about how belief in deities works. Only a projection of the own wishes for that upon nature, and of course if we think of that it of course has to exist. ;-) So, here be your gods and your demons, all of them only primitive idols that never existed. Just constructions for the weak mind.

On the image now, I guess that the blueish hues are because it was partially burned, i.e. ashes perhaps?

Any comments would be very welcome.

Hi Saad!

It is a very nice thing to talk to you, for me too!

I saw the movie already. Still, a movie is a movie, and especially when it is produced in Hollywood I can't consider it as any source for questioning things. I prefer real philosophers to Jodi Foster though she is one of the most underrated actors around. (BTW, what is she doing now? She just... disappeared so suddenly.)

Watching a movie is for just watching some "nice story", except of course if it isn't made the typical hollywoodian way. Physics and mathematics do have to do anything at all with movies, no matter what the many too many wannabe philosophers (like Zemeckis) pretend to question. In fact they don't even know *what* they should question about such subjects. They just grab some jargon here and there, mix it up with their fantasies, and present us some salad as "deep thoughts". In a real research institute they would be the daily joke.

But this is also why they are not in research institutes but in Hollywood, producing those fairy tails that the average raise to "deep thoughts" quite often.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot, Vandi!

So we also have a different interpretation than to perceive it as something "devlish". Which is quite a good thing!

Cheers!

dear Nick,I have to stick to the rules,
English is my second language, although I could clear my thoughts to you in average way let us say,but this time, and in this particular regards of the common believes,I will give my answer to your comment in a rather entertaining way,
Contact is a movie bu Judi Foster, she worked hard to go in a space mission, but they send someone else instead,if you want to know my rules, just hire the DVD and watch the movie,it is very nice one,it fits me in the first place,
It is always pleasure to connect, talk, comment to you my dear,
Saad.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Dave! I also think that the many the textures did much of the job here.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Saad!

The controversy has been already laid down since centuries, the discussion is over, finito la musica. End of story, no matter what "opinions" are. There is no "opinion" when there is a scientific proof! It is much like still "discussing" if there is an anthropogenic factor of global climate warming. General Motors still didn't get that. ;-)

But of course reading such legend and fairy tail like the bible and the rest of them is always much easier than squeezing the last bit of understaning out of the own mind in endless nights and days. I don't waste my best years with studying for still having to deal with their "opinions" - which by the way are like a**holes. Everybody has one ;-) It simply doesn't count.

Cheers!

Very cool shot, Nick!
That piece of tree looks like a moose, I think.
