It's the simple geometry into depth together with the limited color palette that makes it up, Claudia. A good idea as such and also a very well retained amount of details that enhance the perspective, like for example the cobble stones that stand denser and denser as we proceed to the depth.
I don't know about the shadow in the foreground. It does stand into perspective but it appears a bit like an intruder and takes much of the purity of the scene away. Also, perhaps an even shorter focal length would fit even better here.

Not easy to take photos with very little light and you were able to show the real atmosphere of the location.. mystery behind inside that arches..

I like the atmosphere of this one. Perhaps something is missing to emphasize the mood created by the shadows and the light.
This is anyway a nice composition.
