They seem lazy and clumsy on the dock, but i am sure they are agile and friendly in the sea. I wish to capture one of those under the water. All the best...

Michele -- Being the animal lover I am you cannot go wrong showing me these fellows! Love the photo and the point of view you took to get it. Excellent detail and a tough exposure that you got right. Short of burning the image in a post processor, like Doyle said, you could not have done any better. Your skills are getting stronger and the addition of the new camera hardware sure hasn't hurt. I always look forward to seeing your pictures. --Best to you, Jan

Mich,
You can't locate it with a browser, since it's not a link, but a site... Just type in the letters word for word, or copy and paste it on your address bar... ;P
www.photodex.com/sharing/viewshow.html?fl=2685541&alb=0
If you would allow me to email you, then all you would have to do is click on it, but this site doesn't allow that?
email me at txmarty@prodigy.net, then UF won't see your email address. Then I can email you the site... I promise it will make your day!

Awesome POV. For the record . . . these are sea lions . . . seals have no visible ears. California or Stellar Sea Lions . . . hard to tell which and the range from British Columbia to Baja ...... According to Oceanlink.island.net:
-> Adult steller sea lions are lighter tan or reddish brown in colour versus the darker brown or black coloured California sea lion -> A full grown female steller sea lion is four times as big as a female California sea lion -> A full grown male steller sea lion is at least three times as a big as a male California sea lion -> Adult male stellers have a "mane" of thick fur around their neck, whereas male California sea lion have a large "bump" extending from their forehead -> steller sea lion vocalizations sound like roars, whereas California sea lions sound like barks.
The forehead bump in your photo and the similarity between this and the San Francisco Pier 39 specimens suggest this is a California male sea lion . . . and I'm betting you heard a bit of barking.
Whatever they are - they're cool. MarnyQ made me take her back to the pier THREE times on our trip and these were why! Exposure on the back is burned . . . but you pulled out ALL that shaded detail . . . a good deal in any evaluation if you have to choose. The POV (again) is superb . . . like you were floating above and the focal clarity in the water and the color is awesome!
Nice work my friend!
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~
PS: The composition in getting a diagonal with the head twist and the amount of water versus image was (IMO) just about as good as it could get! WoW!

Hi Michele. The angle of the sun made for interesting shadowplay on the seal, and you did a good job exposing the details on the dark side of him. The texture of his skin is well captured, exept the area in the direct, harsh sunlight. I think the overhead view works here. Jason.
