  Q. 35mm film processing
Joe Ciccone
Asked by Joe Ciccone   Donor  (K=3684) on 5/10/2005
after shooting digital for the past 10 years I recently thought I would like to use a SLR camera for those occasions calling for faster focusing and quicker shutter response.
After seeing the size of the Canon 20D & the
Nikon D70 (just too bulky for my taste) I chose to buy a film SLR(Nikon N75)
I love the feel and response but now I am trying to figure out how to go about processing the film from this camera. I though it a good idea to not order prints initally but have everything just put on a CD thinking I could then proceed as if I had digital photos, edit, crop, correct etc before making any prints. However it seems Kodak has limited the file size on their CD's to about 60% of the file size my digitals produce, making it impossible to crop much and still get any sizable prints. Before I try to return the N75 and just stick with my digitals I was curious to see how 'film users' have their processing done. I also wondered if using a color negative scanner is the answer? thanks for any help you can offer to solve this problem.....

P.S.the photo size on the Kodak CD's 1544 X 1024
