Not interested myself but for those who are: Which 28-80 and which 70-300 are you talking about? There are at least 2 models of the former and 3 of the latter.
And pure curiosity: why are you selling those lenses which would work just fine on your D50 (especially the 50mm which is a lot better than any kitlens you're going to get)?

good question about using the lenses on the D50.
for weeks I have been trying to find articles that deal with just that issue...but everyone wants to talk about the 'new D' lenses.
28-80 3.5-5.6 G AF 70-300 4.0-5.6 G AF
how would these work on the D-50? I might be better off just keeping them.
thanks

All G lenses are also D lenses and will work fine. Anything Nikkor that has AF-D, AF-G, or AF-S will work. Most if not all IF-ED will also work even if nothing else is listed.

thanks Jeroen. I received my D-50 yesterday afternoon. I want to thank you for the comments. I guess all the photo mags want to sell the newer "digital lenses" so that's what they talk about most. So far I am very happy with my choice. I had only bought the N75 a few months ago after looking at the D-70 and seeing it's size. Anyway took a few shots at tennis...and very satisfied with the results. The main reasons for the SLR : ability to actually use higher ISO's and capturning what you see when you press the shutter button. Again thanks for your comments. Do you know anyone who's in the market for a Nikon N75- Body only? :)

well I am really happy most people don't respond to a bargin when they see it.... Jeroen thanks again for your suggestion regarding the lenses I was about to sell...everything works really well. What I don't understand is why I get better results using the D-50 Body than when shooting film? Anyway I will try to sell the 'brand new' hardly used body to anyone still shooting film, or maybe a student needing a great basic camera to learn on. $150.....

Your results with film may well have been hampered by either poor film, poor processing, or poor printing. Or maybe you just had the camera set up incorrectly :) There is nothing in a digital camera that magically transforms you into a better photographer.

I didn't say I was a better photographer or not...just that my results weren't as good, ie, color, sharpness etc... whatever it was...don't care, I think main benefit is that you see what you captured...if it's not good your able to shoot again...
