  Q. Morals, Values and Philospohy of Pornography

Asked by Michelle Martin    (K=0) on 4/9/2001
My question is what are the moral limits to pornography in the context of Philosophy?

Yeah, right, "the moral limits to pornography..." Tell you what Michelle Martin, write back, tell us who you are, what your art background is, and what event or whose work prompted you to wonder about this. We've had several of these open ended "questions" recently from senders who never check back in with additional commentary or even thanks.... If you're serious about starting a discussion, ask a better question, and participate when its begun. But I suspect we've said all there is to say about "pornographpy" and are pretty tired of talking about it....

By the way, the quotes and the typo are mine.....

Your question assumes there are moral limits. Give a framework, the source of your assumptions, then perhaps we can proceed. Best make it pertinent to photography somehow or the question will die here.

with regard to "pornogrophy" in the natural world, I don't believe there is such a thing. With regard to it in the unnatural world (the one we now live it) the "limits" are those who are lucky enough (or perhaps unlucky enough) to get their candidates elected to public office. Kevin
